Here you can learn about the basics of writing and publishing an article on this blog. Please note that you have read and understood PerfectCity’s Blogging Guidelines. Then, you are only a few steps away from your article published on PerfectCity!

Step 1: Get registered to PerfectCity
First of all, you should register yourself here.

Step 2: Upload a picture
Log on to your account and click on “my profile” on the top right - You will be directed to your profile site. Go to “Add Photo” on the bottom left and upload your picture. Please note that it has to be in .jpg format. Now click on “Update Profile” - finished.

Step 3: Author Status
Please note that you need to have author status, which can easily be requested by sending us an e-mail to perfectcity@td-berlin.com after you have successfully been registered on this blog. Please send us your article as .doc format or copy it directly into an email. After approval of your article, you will get author status. That procedure is to keep away objectionable content and Spam.

Step 4: Read the Blogging Guidelines
Once you have author status, you are authorized to write and publish articles on PerfectCity.net. At this point, it is imperative that you have read and understood PerfectCity’s Blogging Guidelines!

Step 5: Use the tabs for navigation
Clicking on “Write” will bring you to writing mode, whereas “Manage” allows you to edit and/or publish your previously saved articles.

Step 6: Writing an article

  • In writing mode you can choose from “Visual” and “Code” mode. Beginners should write in Visual mode.
  • Besides some font options for your text, you can add hyperlinks by marking the corresponding word first and then clicking on the link icon on the top. Then insert the URL in the pop-up window and add a description of the link.
  • Insert an image to your text by clicking on the image icon on the top. You should insert the URL of the image in the pop-up window. You will get the URL of an image by right-clickin on the selected image and copy the adress of the image. If you want to add an image, which is not on the internet, you can use the upload function below. Select and upload your image, and click on send to editor. Please note that you can chose between thumb size and original size when inserting an uploaded picture. As for linking and uploading pictures, it is crucial that you respect copy rights.   • You can split your article with a “read more…” tag by clicking on the splitting symbol on top. The text will be splittet into one part, which is shown on the blog and one part which only can be seen when clicking on “read more…”. You should use this option when your article is very long to keep the blog organized and tidy.
  • You can also add tags to your article, which will appear in the tagcloud.
  • Clicking on “Save and Continue Editing” allows you to save and preview your post.
  • The “Save” button saves your post as draft. The post will not be published.
  • Publish your article by clicking on the “Publish” button.
