This dossier gives a summary of the discussions on Housing in the light of the development of the PerfectCity Charter.

Therefore, we have listed several potentially relevant factors for Housing and these factors were evaluated by PerfectCity readers in a poll.

As shown in the figure, Finance and Management are considered to be the most important factors in that poll. That means people need housings they can afford and care more about financing their housing than about the form or the design.

Since the discussion on climate change and sustainability has become an issue, people are considering green facts to be important. Thus, Eco Housing has been voted to be the third most relevant factor.

The social factor of living in a nice neighbourhood is not to be neglected as it came in second in our poll. A lot of people considered their surrounding to be one of the most important things when it comes to housing.

Furthermore form seems to be more important than function as function seems to be considered as a direct consequence of construction thus reversing one of the main principles of modern architecture “Form Follows Function”.
