U.S. architect Thom Mayne designed the new Eco-Tower which is expected to be completed in 2012. The good old Eiffeltower is 324 meters tall (including antennas), so this new 300 meter-tower will definitely rival the historic masterpiece…

Mayne said he wanted to retain a human dimension to the design - so the new Eco-Tower appears pleasant and enjoyable, yet futuristic. The Tower is not about reaching skyscraping hights of some 800 metres - ” the idea is to have something which is modern and iconic rather than just high”, Mayne explains.
And now to the green-part: The Eco-Tower will incorporate a wind farm generating its own heating and cooling for five mounths of the year. In addition, a movable double skin is to cut the heat from direct sunlight through the windows. Hence, one may argue that it represents the new generation of green buildings. The design is characterized by a certain fluidity, sensuousness, and softness to the form. The asymmetric twist of the tower swells out over an elevated lobby in the lower portion before tapering off to a thicket of wind turbines on the roof and finally reaches to the sky.
The new attraction will cost the developers Unibail an estimated 800 million euros and will house some 130,000 square metres of office space.
So what do you think about all the new towers in London, Warsaw and Paris?

Hi, I think this tower will be looking great. It looks kind of organic, like as if it “grows” into the city.
Greetings
CB
It looks somehow terrific.
